Nova Foresta- The First Edition

Nova Foresta was the first name recorded for ‘The New Forest’, Hampshire in the Domesday book. The term specifically represented the part of the forest used as the Royal Hunting ground. The collection title relates to a first edition of beautiful woven designs created by Blendworth from in-house hand painted oak leaves, foliage, florals and fruit and inspired by the Blendworth archive, which houses some of the most beautiful historical damasks collected from Europe since 1921. Two designs, Villefranche and Fareoke have been woven in shades inspired by the extensive Blendworth damask collection. They are presented as sixty reversible cotton damasks, created in Europe using a Blendworth exclusive irregular satin weave and woven with the highest quality combed Egyptian long staple cotton. As with all true damasks the beauty of this collection lies not only in how the weave is viewed on the front but also on the reverse.
