Eijffinger - 'Suzani'
Feeling cozy and secure in your own home is currently and will continue to be a trend for home fashions. Folkloristic influences, the use of colour, material and design inspired by nature are creating this and contribute to a warm feeling. These elements together with the innovative touch of Eijffinger, can be found in the new wallpaper collection Suzani.
The name Suzani originates from the word SUZAN, meaning embroidery. This recognizable needlework technique started in Middle Asia. The barren landscape inspired the Nomads to embellish textiles and by doing so enliven their living environment. The choice of colours, the patterns and the selected materials in combination with the SUZAN embroidery technique resulted in splendidly designed fabrics. The designs are embroidered with one single long thread of cotton or silk chained as a necklace. This specific way of embroidering makes this style so uniquely recognizable. Eijffinger transformed this style to give it a contemporary look. Blue and taupe shades create serenity. While colourful designs like trees, ornamental flowers and embroidered circles are elaborated in new trend colours like ochre and rust. The use of a special printing technique creates the illusion of of the woven embroidery on the wall paper.
